Spanish Percusion Pistol Iron/Brass
The main requirements for dueling pistols were that they be quick firing and accurate, and barrels were often exceptionally heavy to better absorb the jerk of a nervous trigger finger. These Spanish pieces exhibit the classic stock shape of early percussion-lock dueling pistols, whereby the weapon “pointed” accurately as an extension of the arm, enabling the duelist to fire quickly and smoothly.
